Help? does any one know how to fix a oil leak on the bottom of the case of the motor , what happens is I ride it and park it in the garage and shut the gas off and go out to the garage a couple of days later and fin a 6x6 pile of oil/gas and I know it's not from the carb I have put a rag under the carb and it's never came up wet. I believe it's coming from the bottom case the oil left over that sits in the crank for lube does any one have any advice to fix cheap and fast going to saint joes Saturday

After I though about it it may be coming from the card tube it does run down to bottom of the case if it is how would I stop it I'm sure the screw is tight I had the carb rebuilt over the winter by the shop

I would try turning the petcock off on the tank .personally I would reclean the carb. Mainly the float seat and check float condition / check float hight.

Might not even be their fault. Went to start son's Banshee and the right carb started leaking, and it was fine couple weeks ago. It's the crap they sell called gasoline

It is not rocket science to isolate the carb from the floor, remove the drain tube from the carby and place a container under the nipple.

If there is oil in the container in the morn then the prob lies with the gas flow.

They did a leak test and compression test and replaced the plug and rebuilt the card and told me it was good for the season I called the shop today and they want me to drop it of today but me and my buds are going riding tomorrow so looks like it will wait till Monday lol thanks for all your help guys

That is good advice!

I sure hope that is not your last ride for a while.

You really should find out where that leak is from.

If it is from the carby, then the worst thing that can happen on your ride will be a fouled plug.

If it is from the crancase then maybe BOOM.

I apologise for being harsh but I hear this all to often,......The "I just wanna ride" senario.
To quote the chorus of an old song, "When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn"

So true. I would rather mis a weekend then mis the rest of the season from a blown motor.

But see its never revved high it always idles great I let it idle in the yard about a hour ago for 15 min with a little goosing it and it always came back down so I don't believe it's the case I am almost positine it's the carb I got it tourn apart now going to get it back together first thing in the morning
