new idea: i did find orings and spring kit for the banshee, are they the same size?

let me know ASAP as i am trading it for a car and need to get it on

thanks

are you talking about between the block and the pipe or the pipe and the exhaust?

ok , there is a "donut" or gasket that kinda sits in the cylinder head its like 3/8" thick it go's between the cylinder head and the smaller peice that your pipe slides onto, I assume this is your problem. "on aftermarket" Ex. for fmf you put that gasket in your exhaust port on your head Install pipe header peice, slide pipe over that peice and FMF has a loop on the header and a spring ataches from there to the head, your local dealer should be able to bring it up N/P and as far as i know you have to use the same gasket on all models for sure fmf,DG,stock, pro cuircut

pitboss, do u have to have this, or can u just use the hi temp silicon u recomend?

i found a gasket at work yesterday...it fit fine on mine...its a ROL
part number "EG24578"

the gasket is made by felpro and cost me like $0.63.

Yes we keep them in stock for a lot of different applications. I usually install a new one each time i remove the manifold and ALWAYS re-apply the high temp silicone to the face of the manifold before it gets bolted in to place.

If it's a gasket, like cypher said, you can easily make one out of gasket paper from Pepboys or any other automotive store.

im talking about where the pipe connects into the jug
so, hightemp silicone will work?

i know this is not a car..and if i am wrong please correct me... but in my experience, hi temp silicone will not work on exhaust at the manifold/jug...to much pressure and heat. a gasket material might work but the pressure could easily blow it out. exhaust gaskets are usually thick gaskets made of a material that looks kind of like a ceramic material. i know on cars they are made around a wire frame. and alot of them have a solid metal wall on the inside to protect the gasket from pressure. they are made to hold up to extreme heat and the pressures of the exhaust.

get a gasket from yamaha or you can try the gasket i said earlier...its a ROL GASKET pt# "EG24578"...ROL is made by FELPRO (i think the felpro number is 23588)...it is a toyota exhaust gasket....it cost like $1.50 or something.

maybe i am wrong and i am sure someone will correct me if i am but this is my opinion. i would rather put on one that i am sure is not going to blow out that mess around and end up fixing the problem 10 times.
