I was riding by blaster and it seized, piston shattered and metal chunks went in my bottom end, i need to get it going before my four wheeler trip in 2 weeks. I got a email for a 1989 yamaha It 250 engine i can get for 175 bucks. It ran great before pulled out of the bike. is this a swapable engine with little mods? Will my cdi and coil work with it still, i can probally make my blaster carb work , it probally just be short of fuel. Let me know im not spending now 500 bucks on a use blaster engine i bought my 2002 blaster which is perfect for 500 bucks with a title. let me know guys thanks

Ya its a two stroke 1989 yamaha it dirt bike motor, the guy already sold off the cdi, carb etc.. looks pretty close to a blaster motor. i just figured some one on the forum would know about it. any one with thoughts please let me know

a rt180 motor is more similar, whats the deal with the four strokes here? its a 2 stroke website but that doesnt mean they suck, considering a yz250f has the same lap times as a yz250 with the same rider

coil is fine, and if the carb fits in the hole then thats fine. But your CDI probly wont give it the right curve, just split the cases and fix it, its not that hard.

I have a four stroke too! but track dont mean sh*t because you can only go so fast and jump so far. Im saying it takes more balls to ride a two stroke, and two strokes go faster.

a crf150r will accelerate as fast as a 125.. simply becasue it hooks up better. And the track does mean alot. handling, hookup, acceleration, speed. I know what it takes to race a 2 stroke, but that doesnt mean they are faster

Yes, the YZ250 Motor will fit in your blaster. But it is NOT a drop in. You will have to fabricate new fron motor mounts. If I'm not mistaken, you don't have to cut them front ones off, hust modify them.

The Blaster's engine in the rear is integrated with the swing arm mount. The bolt goes through. If you notice, the YZ's motor does not. It's actually a little bigger (space)
What you gotta do is cut part of the swing arm mount to gain some access for the new motor.
Might have to raise the gas tank as well. Nothing a few washers can't help.
Lastly, you gotta fab up a new exhaust system.

Cosidering that it has only few fab parts, it's kinda simple.
REP POINT???

they lose traction and control. And these machines were made for the track, what do you think they were designed for?
