Blaster carb/engine problems HELP!!!!!!!

one thing you can try is to wrap the threads on your carb w/ teflon tape (you can get it at any hardware store). this will give you a bit better seal on the top of the carb, but you only want to do this long enough to diagnose if that's where your problem lies. you don't want to run it like that long enough for any bits to wear and migrate into your mixture and you want to make sure that you don't wrap the tape high enough to interfere w/ the action of the slide.

another thing: it could be the mixture itself. you say that the plug is wet when you pull it. you mean that it's black in color and has a wet oily substance on it? could be indicative of overly rich mixture in the pilot circuit.
seems like 80% of people's problems w/ their atvs lies in the carb jetting.
also, you said that the carb has a screw top....does this mean that the carb is a-m? if so, it could be that the slide size and emulsion tube size are unfit for the application.

quam, yea the plug is wet, not really oily but it is black...it has been in there for awhile but i changed it and it was still wet....haven't been ablt to keep it running long enough to get a plug reading tho so the new plug looked welll...new lol. idk what you mean by the carb being a-m...the carb that is in there is the stock mikuni carb that all blasters have. i just bought a rebuild kit and am going to go try that right now. what is an emulsion tube?

ok here's an update.....

I rebuilt the carb...still got the same effect as in my frist post....then we started messing with the air screw. then thing ran kind of normal with the choke pulled all the way out and the air screw at like 1 1/4 turns out....but when i pushed the choke back in it would just rev away....so high one time that even when i shut the main switch off it still kept running. the reeds are good put gasket sealer all around the intake. everything just seems opposite of what it should be. why would it rev super high when it was getting lean? also i am getting about 95 PSI of compression is that good? my manual doesn't say what it should be....need to get a clymer.

I appreciate everyone who's trying to help me out!!! keep the post commin so i can ride!!!

one last thing....seems to be blowing out alot of white smoke....not the bluish kinda a 2 stroke should have. it gets better once we got it kind of running normal but still awful white...any ideas on that? could that be telling me what the problem is in the jetting or carburation?
