I have a keihin 28 mm carb kicking around should I just throw that on instead of pulling my hair out trying to jet my stock carb. At this point if i do decide to go with it ill probly put ot on and take it to a shop and have them jet it

Also there is a 36 mm pwk for sale im thinking about getting, is that too much for the mods i have

Pro circuit pipe
Airbox lid removed uni filter
New reeds
Mild port job

Bored 40 over even though it not a power adder i wanted to throw it in there

IMO the 36 will be way too big. The 28 should be fine but if you have someone else jet it for you make sure that you know they are competent in what they are doing. Jetting is something I would rather do myself and know its right rather than ASSuME that someone else did it right.

im taking it to the local dealer enfield motorsports so I trust them but I hear what your sayin I cant even figure out the stock carb so i figured if im gonna pay em I might as well have them dial in the carb im eventually gonna put on

After their mechanic BenDover gets done jetting it and dipping deep into your pocket, maybe you'll put down your X-Box long enough to start reading and learning how carbs work and how to jet them. Even the Clymers manual tells how to jet. You do have one don't you ?:oI:I

Plus, unless they have huge experience with your set-up and room to test it they are only going to get close, hopefully for you it will be on the rich side . Post up what it ends up costing you and if you like how it runs. I:I

yes definitely use that 28mm it should work great for your set up... but we could help you jet for free instead of paying the dealer to get you as close as we would.

I have been trying to jet for the pas couple weeks I cant figure it out I have litterally read every post and diy about jetting I could probly write a book about it I just cant figure mine out it will not idle no matter what I do I have to turn the air screw 3 to 5 time out to get it to start

Then you probably have a separate problem, not just jetting.

The air screw adjusts the amount of vacuum applied to the top of the pilot jet. Opening that screw allows more air in reducing the amount of fuel drawn through the jet. 3-5 turns out means that the pilot jet is too large (not really appplicable if you have a stock carb and stock pilot jet) or something else in the system is not working properly.

Perhaps the stock carb has been damaged in some in the past. Perhaps the choke plunger is not sealing properly, perhaps you have low compression, perhaps the reeds are not sealing properly and allowing air to backlfush through the carburetor three times instead of once (richening the mixture terribly)
