I currently have a cpw 30mm carb on my blaster and I am not satisfied with it for many many reasons! I wanted to know what is the best carburetor for racing ? My mods are v-force reeds, uni air filter, wesico piston, heavily milled head, and a full dmc alien exhaust.

i had just put the 30 cpw in mine. why dont u like it cause my bike is in the shop right now nd havent been able 2 ride it?

Get your cylinder ported and put a 35mm airstryker on it

First and for most it caused my motor to sieze because it was running to lean and you had to tell the company your mods so they can supposedly jet it properly. Second my quad will not idle and the idle adjustment screw does sh#t . And last but not least the company charged me another $25 to get the right jets for the the carburetor that they did not jet right in the first place. Oh and yes I would sell it in about 2 weeks for somewhere around $45 not including shipping.

I've bought quite a few carbs and not to sound like a dick, but the company's will put jets in the carb that they think is close to what you should be running. Its still your responsibility to do a plug test and dial the carb in accordingly.

agreed stroker. they should tell you that you need to check it, but ultimately it's up to u on jetting. no one can tell you for sure. even if 2 people had the same mods, they may run different size jets b/c of elevation, riding style, etc.

that may be true but I simpily do not want the carb any more becuase even since we rejetted it ,by my mechanics suggestion, it stalls during the middle of races and it still will not idle. Is the PJ 34mm carburetor any good?

the 34mm pj is a pretty good carb. The only thing I don't like about them is that the idle adjustment and the choke adjustment are on the same pull tab. The airstryker is a newer version of the pj. If you can find a cheap pj, I'd get it.

YES i agree. if the idle screw does noting then the pilot is wrong size. if u popped engine its because u leaned it out. i say keep the carb put the fatest(largest) main jet in and work ur way down in increments of 10 until it respond as it should then go up one size. if it is sluggish up top after that drop it back down one size. then do a plug chop. new plug porcelian should be tan in color. but if u do main jet as stated u will be good. first adjust air screw to highest idle before u do anything else.if screw is all the way in u and does nothing u need bigger pilot if its all the way out and does nothing u need smaller pilot.second u have to adjust clip on the needle inside of carb. pull the cap off the top and pull the spring up and there is a clip down there. this setting is for mid range throttle response. move the clip up on the needle for leaner down for richer. if it runs flat and no spunk in mid range go richer if it spits and bucks and pops go leaner. and then last do the main jet as described above as the finishing touch. if this is done correctly u should be satisfied. u can only expect so much from a 200cc u only have 1 cylinder to work with so it must be tuned right on.
and a 34mm on stock cylinder is wayyy to much

i just got my bike back today and it now has a 178 main jet, idles and the bike runs great? just had to put the bigger pilot than came with it and turn the needle clip setting half down.

hey i have a almost stock bike. mods to the engine are: fmf gold sereis exhaust. boyesen power reeds, moose racing air filter, and a oild injection block off kit.
my stock carb is giving me an idssue.it floods the engine and the bike stalls. after i dry out all of the gas from in the cylinder.it runs fine for a little while like 10 mins then idles real high [like full throtle] and then will stall out and then i check the engine and its flooded.

would this carb fit? a 34mm keihin carb?

or would i need to get a smaller one?
thanks for the hlp

thats what i am running, it is awesome as sh*t! i love it man, its really finnicky when jetting and tuning but man when you get it dialed in, mine runs like a rat on crack.I:I
