Beginner Wants to race

if your gonna be serious you will most likly need a transponder(you do here anyway) you also need nerf bars and a thether style cut off switch, full safty gear boots, chest, protector, helmet, gloves etc! and of course practice ,practice, and more practice

I have been practicing I need more places to ride. I did order the kill switch I still have to get all the gear but where do I start. Sign up. I know I do novices races or something

Transponders are used in motorsport for lap timing purposes. A cable loop is dug into the race circuit near to the start/finish line. Each car has an active transponder with a unique id code. When the racing car passes the start/finish line the lap time and the racing position is shown on the score board.

from wikipedia

a transponder is like a little computer you put on your quad that records your lap times! im not sure as it is most luikly different over ther but here you join your local club/track!

Ok is that some thing I buy? If so where. I'm real serious I have no other hobbies and I grew up on 4 wheelers not that it really matters. I'm good and I have the lil extra umph it takes to win. Is anyone in Georgia that could help
Out. Thanks for the quick reply. Very helpfull

forget that stuff...you don't need that thing yet at all.

you need the safety stuff first, good helmet, boots, chest protector. then good nerfs and heel guards, and a tether killswich.

then you need to completely go through your suspension, long travel stuff would be nice, the quad needs to be wider and longer. not to mention stock shocks SUCK.

then start working on motor, a really really strong midrange is important.

anti-vibe stem will help with arm pump

and tons of practice. most of mx racing is going to be the rider.

^^^^^ bout sums it up...before u buy anything go watch a few races and check it out...you'll learn alot

MX racing??? safety gear and suspension first. Used form other at racers or craigslist ebay etc

transponder it don't think you will need, I don't have one and if need they provide them at the tracks you race at but not every tracks use them.

dont worry about a transponder in the states... the only circuits that use em are a few select cross country circuits like SCORES , WHIPLASH and such... GNCC doesnt even use em, they do the barcode system, In motocross its pretty much unheard of unless you are in the pro ranks. and all the very FEW races ive had to use a transponder they supplied transponders with a small safety deposit incase you loose it. to get race ready first things to do is safety for ur self and machine (teather,boots,skidplate,nerfs....) then do performance mods starting with tires, suspension, exhaust motor in that particular order.
