any you guys that have spit the cases or rebuilt a bottom end have any advice on getting a stuck bearing off the crank? I split the cases and one bearing stuck in the clutch side case, which is easy to punch out from the ouside...but the stator side crank bearing came out on the crank. I know their is a special bearing seperator tool or whatever made by tusk but im thinkin somebody has to have gotten this done without it...not worried about damage to the bearing, new ones are gettin sweat into the cases soon....just need the old one off the crank without damaging the crank. any help is appreciated

you can maybe try some wood wedges cut from a 2x4 or something and wedge in between crank and bearing and tap the wedges with a hammer and try to get the bearing off. might work not sure though it's worth a try.

yeah im thinking im going to have to fabricate some sort of puller device...either using like locking wedges or wires. I have a pretty nice puller set that i use alot so i just need to find a way to attach the puller bolts to the bearing....haha maybe i will just throw the puller on and tack weld the puller bolts right to the bearing ...bearing is goin in the trash anyway and i will cover the crank so no spatter will stick...but its mig so it shouldnt anyways. Any better ideas? no real way to use heat/cold like you do to get them in...

haha i actually saw that at harbor freight when i bought my puller set i used to split my cases...but im not droppin 50 bucks to pull 1 bearing 1 time

i was kinda thinkin that....like freeze the whole thing then maybe hit the bearing with some heat since the bearing will prolly heat up and expand faster than the solid crank. I will get it im sure...just thinking of possibilities and the best way to do it

damn yea a 3 jaw would prolly work too! didnt really even think about that...except theres only like 2 mill in between the bearing and the side of the crank so idk if you could get the jaws in behind it? and yeah there is a puller set at harbor freight that splits the cases really easily...and its only 10 dollars haha..pretty nice kit
