Does anyone know what is recommended on Vito's BBk i think im having slight knock. i have a ricky stator at +4 timing and running a br9es plug

whatever octane the motor is built to run. There is a chance that with the timing advance at +4 you may need to move up on octane. What octane are you running now?

undo that silly timing advance and the knock will disappear

yeah try the timing back at stock and see what happens. i have heard from some very smart fellers that timing is dangerous power that shouldnt be messed with unless you know why you are doing it.

How much compression are you running? You can try moving the timing down to +2 and see if it helps any but it shouldn't be knocking for you unless your compression is up higher.

to be honest havent done a compression test but im gonna turn the timing back to +2 and do a compression test and let you guys know how it goes

Timing mods are quite sensitive if you are near the edge with them. 1 degree can make quite a difference. If it is still evident, then go down to 0 and see what happens.

undo it the +4 its not worth the hassle that comes with it, especially since it brings little hp gain, ur lucky to 2 hp out of it, not worth the extra heat and strain on the engine. i have the vitos +3 bbk KOR ported and head mod, havent run it yet but i talked to him about timing advance, not worth the hassle. but its ur motor. ur better off getting ur flywheel lightened. i got something in the works thats going to be interesting....super secret squirrel sh*t! since u have close to the same motor i have i will let u know how it works out, first i have to get back to wa to do anything.

also ill be running 93/110 mix 50/50

A stroker puts more heat and strain on an engine than a minor timing advance does.

yeah but ur getting more out of a stroker than said timing advance.

Sure.....but 2hp from a timing advance is about a 5% gain in power everywhere. If you run a stroker WITHOUT altering port timing for the stroker setup, you merely gain a few CC's in displacement which is even less of a gain. It's only after you alter the porting for the stroker setup that you are seeing any real gains.

which i have done to mine, only reason i have the +3 in the motor and set up for it, i could argue with u all night about which is a better mod and has better gains, but im not going to because trying to prove a point to u is like dealing with a 5 yr old with ADD.

Sounds good to me as long as you go tell the Banshee guys advancing timing is meaningless hassle of a mod and you can enjoy them laughing at you.

to each is own, u think ur actually going to feel the difference of 2hp, not saying its a worthless mod, to me its not worth it unless ur draggin/racing and trying to squeeze every bit of hp u can get, recreational....pointless.

It put out a very noticeable difference for me and everybody else that tried it. It made a hell of a lot more difference than reeds ever did.

u think what u want to, the 2 hp u get out of it(if ur lucky) is not worth the strain on the motor, my opinion. i did it and i didnt feel it riding and i had a aggressive trail port stock motor, with 34mm carb, reeds, lrd exh etc
