Pulled my jug and my base gasket looks like it's all metal and in excelant shape. Do you think with a little copper RTV, I could reuse it? I don't normally reuse gaskets but if it's safe to do so, that's some money that can go to getting carb jets. I'm not really sure what a stock base gasket costs.

i wanted to know the same thing bro. i have only 2 rides on mine and if i could reuse it then i would. i cant afford 30 bucks right now and i want to ride asap.

yamaha base gaskets are no more than 15 at the stealership. dont risk ruining your time and effort by reusing something that could screw your engine up

I normally do repairs 100% rite but just wanted to check. I think it would be ok considering it's metal, looks like it's brand new and is not an inbosed gasket. If other have not done this with a100% success , then I'm not going to risk it. I didn't know they where that cheap. I thought a read somewhere that they cost $30 something for just the base gasket. I'll call my local shop tomarrow and see what they charge. I would of done it by now but there closed Sunday and Monday.

$8 for a stock base gasket at hudaks local stealership, and i've never seen an all metal one, the stock ones are metal wrapped in what looks like teflon ????
don't risk it, buy a new one
