bar clamp

anyone have an idea of how to make a 1 1/8 bar clamp work for 7/8 bars??
i have a steering stem with a bar clamp for fatbars and want to use my regular bars on it.. any suggestions..

u could try wrapping some rubber strips around the mounting spots on the bars, mabe cut them from the rubber gas tank cover under the seat, but try wrapping them around ur bars a few times and clamping them down super tight, it should work and not move

yea i tried rubber and it has to much play and the bars still move..
i tried band iron and also have tried thin aluminum stips wraped around.. nothing seem to work very good..
my last idea has worked the best just wondering if anyone has come accross this before and found a good solution..

i can only find adapters to go from 7/8 to 1 1/8 but not the other way around..
i made something that looks simular to this but doesnt work 100% if jump something and come own on the bars hard they twist loose.. im on the right track i guess i could add groves to the spacers i made maybe that will solve my problem..

yea the things i posted wont raise the bars any just fill in the gap.. lol i guess i could use two sets..

what i am saying is fat bars are shorter than 7/8 bars so ur bars will be tall with your steering stem. not talkin bout adapter things

yea they stand tall but i like em were they are at i have pro tapers on it now..

this might work for ya man
find a peice of pipe with the the same ID as ur bars and enough OD to make up for the gap, cut 2 peices, and then stand them up and cut them down( longways), that way u have 2 halfs to wrap around the bars, put it on the bars and put into the stem clamp,try putting a hose clamp on the outside of the stem block to hold them in place while u tighten the top stem clamp down, kinda confusing abit lol, let me know if u understand it?

yea 305 try what freek said, take the pipe kinda like the hub spacers for your axle, cut them in half long way. grind a little bit off the edges to allow for tightening. place them inbetween your clamp and bars should work. if you dont plan on getting rid of the bars, clean them really well and the pipe shim and put some gorilla glue on them to help with the slippage.

i used some pipe clamps but they have a slight ridge.. i dont know why i didnt think to use regular pipe ill let you guys know how it works out tomorrow..

so here's the solution and it works great.. i used 3/4" copper and 220 wet sandpaper and some super glue. lol

hey 305 i also got an idea for ya....y dont u just use the fat bars...i think they would look sick with u blaster and the +2stem

Maybe cut a piece of copper tubing down the side adn slide it over the bars where you clamp on it?
