Ok people i just finished tearing this banshee down and the topend has been redone at one time. The bores appear to be .020 over. But the pistons are some what of a mystery to me theres no markings on top other than the arrow for the obvious foward facing the exhaust. But there is this inside of the piston 31K-SMI JAPAN.Im not sure what it is maybe you guys do?

But the bores look great im going to deglaze them and probably throw a set of forged wossners or wisecos in it.It also has a set of dual stage reeds im guessing boysens?

Anywho heres some pix of the banshee and jugs and so on.

Think i can just hone it theres no damage to the jugs and theres nothing to even remotely hang a finger nail it appears to be real nice whatcha guys think?

Let me know if you guys see anything out of the ordinary or that needs attention.

I'd take a bore gauge and measure the cylinders, just to be sure they are in spec before honing them out and installing new pistons/rings. The cylinder walls look clean, so as long as they measure up, you'll be fine with a hone job.

As for other stuff I see in the pics, your top case half is broken right behind the flywheel cover. This is a common problem on Banshee's when a chain comes off and goes flying. It shouldn't affect anything (just looks bad) but be SURE to take a good look at this area so that you're 100% sure that there are no cracks or holes in the actual engine. If you find damage to the transmission housing, it will have to be fixed before you go riding.

Otherwise, that Banshee looks pretty good. It needs a good pressure-washing, but otherwise...

Yea i just got off the phone with ken and im sending him the jugs to be honed and mic'ed.

Yea the case im planning to just grind off flush and clean up if it isnt broke too bad.

Any idea on these pistons?

And of the two wossner/wiseco which would be your first choice?
