ok.. im gettin a banshee axle for cheap cheap cheap.. like $10 cheap....

anyways.. i read you have to grind stuff to make the rear brakes work on it.. or run a shee brake set up.. well here is my quastion.. my rear brakes dont work.. havent since long before i owned my blaster.. im usedto it.. can i not run the brake set up on the rear for now? plan on puttin a hydro set up on it later..

but for now am i able to run the axle with out any brake set up on it???

LOL... i been riding with out rear brakes since i got it... seems im the one that gets hit not me doing the hitting.. my wife rear ended me on the lake cuz all 4 wheels worth of her brakes couldnt stop as fast as i could!!!

and ok thanks.. i dont wanan bother puttin my none working brakes back on sinc eim gona go hydro once i can afford it

the easiest way to do the hydro is switch to an 03 or up carrier then you just have to mount the master cylinder an adapt the pedal to work

i was planning on gettin the hydro set up off a smashed dirt bike.. or aparted out quad on craigslist... i just wanna get the shee axle in tommrow... should gane around 4-4.5 total witdh with the off set on my new rear rims..

cant reember if the brake hub is on it.. i hope so

As said above just need the shee brake hub and axle and all other components will switch right over.Yes you can run it without the brakes with no problems.

got the banshee axle on tonight.. idk why everyone said i need the shee brake hub.. used my blaster one and everything fits good, and is tight and centerd

thanks!! going riding out at afriends parents place in plymouth tommrow.. said htey got a 2-3 acre field across the street from his parents house to ride.. said its nice some hills and what not but its kinda like riding in a circle.. sinc ei got the small tires and the gearing i think im gonna have to show him how a blaster throws down against a raptor 660r in tight places! cant wait to see how the handleing was chnaged by the wider rear end

Hell ya man looks great and will handle amazing and as far as your purchase you didnt do to bad but I still got you beat lol.....FREEBIE is what I got mine for lol.....Just came across a really good deal and so did you man.... My pic with the new axle is in my avatar....

looks good!! i love the look of it now.. allways loved the looks of ablaster with a 'phat ass' so to say.. LOL!! slowly making the small quad fit my size better... extended swinger and +2 or +3 a arms and it will be perfect!

You deffinately need the shee brake hub. There is almost an inch different in length from the 88-02 blaster brake hub to the shee brake hub. It's tough to tell but it looks like you used the two rubber bushings on each side of the blaster brake hub.If you did it will come loose.I tried to use the 88-02 when I set mine up and it didn't work correctly. The shee axle makes the rotor a fixed rotor compared to the floating rotor on the 88-02 models.Shoot some better close up pics of the rear cause it should not work right with that brake hub.

what exactly do you mean by fix and floating rotor?? there is only about a1/2 inch gap between rotor and carrier if that maybe 1/4 with the rubber bots on both sides like it was before it looks no diff.. just on the wheel side of the brake hub, the rubber boot dont go over the lip of the axle

i put it together with out the rubber boots first and it fit the same as it does now.. figured the boots were to keep dirt and crap out of the carrier berrings

I'm not sure how it is working. You should not need the rubber boots for the shee axle conversion.I am off to work I will send you some pics of the different hubs when I get home.I think 89 was just having the same problem trying to use the 88-02 brake hub on an 03 and up blaster axle.I'm curious to figure it out.lol also if you ever do the shee rear hydro conversion you will need the shee brake hub to give it that fixed rotor.

yeah i know.. i have no rear brake set up on it right now... rear brakes never workd.. and i dont have anything to grind down the caliper to get it mounted..and i didnt need them.. i put them on cuz i thought the should be there to keep crap from gettin in the carrier berrings.. im going riding tommmrow so il see if i run into any issues with it
