whats a good atv mechanic school? theres a add in dirt wheels for penn foster, its not to far from me you guys have any info on this or any other schools ?

Are you still in high school? If so and they have a vo-tech program heavy equipment repair teaches you how to work on small engines.

i think uti has somthing like that go to uti.edu

with the way the econimy is going, keep the atv wrenching as a hobbie or a out of your garage type thing, if you wanna worth with engines and what not.. get into deisel tech school... millions and millions of semis on the road, get certified for deisel mechanic and you pretty much have agarunteed job for life... same with nursing

well, penn foster just called me. there an online scholl and for the motorcycle/atv class its around 700, and its all online at your own pace but the only thing is theres no hands on experiences with doing it online. they have a payment plan and give you some tools when you graduate, they also send a letter of recomendation and a resume. they said all the top manufacturers honer there school, like harly, yamaha, honda, suzuki, so idk i might do it i need a better job and theres a honda shop like 5 min from my house and romney cycles it 30 min away, wich is one f the biggest shops in the us

not to knock any atv techs but im sure most atv places that hire techs dont pay all that well, like 4.50 an hour. If you go to wyotech and spend 60k on tuition and then make 4.50 an hour well do the math.

If you want to be a mechanic go to a deisel school or aviation and work on quads on the side. I buy busted quads and dirtbikes on c-list and flip them and keep my 9-5.

a lot of techs get paid like 15 an hr, they charge 79 an hour, the top mechanic at the shop near me gets paid like 28 an hr because he worked for team honda, mike vlasko, guy is a genius

4.50 an hour? dude minimum wage is like 6.15... im making 7.43 for what i do now, and when i worked at a auto garage i made 8.00 an hour as a mechanics helper...
and i got my info today, i think im signing up when i get paid, the minimum first payment is 19 bucks, and then its 38 a month after that with no intrest. they said if your willing to dedicate 5 hours a week to the work then you will graduate in 8 months, more time to the work means sooner graduation

go for it man, i am in the navy, i am diesel mechanic, i am guaranteed a job if i get out, i can go anyhwere, i will need some diff training, i work on opposed piston diesels, same concept though, i am tryn for a c school before i get out, it goes further in depth about the engine, but if i was to choose a school i would choose wyotech

15 dollars an hour is alot? thats not even enough to live honestly. if you get paid hourly then you better make at least 30 and hour to even be able to get a decent home and maybe raise a family

15 is decent, esp around here... hell 10 is good around here..lol im just wondring how doing it all online will pan out theres no hands on exp and thats the best part

yeah man its hard to be a book mechanic, i am hands on, thats the best way to learn, unless you have an engine to look at while you are doing it, but you should be ok, 15 is ok, nowadays its a good wage, lol
