ok the 1983 atc 250r rear shock. What needs to happen for this shock to fit? anything? and how much more will it make my quad sit higher on a stock lenght swingarm

I have an atc not sure what year sitting on mine right now, I think it sits atleast an inch or 2 higher but I kinda like it. U can tell how it sits from my sig pic

first of all. why ???????????
that thing damn near qualifies for antique status, how good can it actually be, unless it sat on a shelf for years

that year was the first for atc's right? i don't think they were very good suspension wise. get one for an 85-86 atc or even hold out for a trx 250 400 or 450 shock.

Im sending it to get rebuilt and serviced.. meaning a recharge, new dual rate springs.

that kinda defeats the purpose i think... the reason most people are geting 250R shocks is so for 100 for the shock, and 40 -60 bucks DIY rebiuld you get something nice. I woudl imigine if you are paying a shop to do it for you you'll have enough money tied up into tit tha tyou could have bought a better aftermarket shock.

/\/\/\ word !!!!

yeah, that shock didnt fit awk. But i got a nice 250r shock for 25 bucks, doesnt need a thing just a diy and go ride it

cool, lemme know if you need help, i have a trx250r shock on my boys bike,
and also, sorry if i seemed harsh earlier, it just didnt seem like you were getting it thru your head
"to not waste money on a shock that wouldn't work"
i was truely just tryin to look out for your best interest, or wallet if you may, even if that meant being a douche to get your thinking straight
a lot of these guys on here have been modding these things far longer than you and i combined, and there are proven parts that work, and ones that dont.
and you seemed to be bent on trying ones that wont, hence my harshness

what shock didnt fit? u talking about the 83 atc shock? because it will fit u have to grind the top mounts a little bit to fit in the blaster mount. but yeah its a good thing u got a different shock

yeah man, im kinda newer to blasters. Im only 15 so i really have no clue what im doin. I just try to follow you guys on here. But i dont mind the harshness. Im hard headed some times, But that 83 atc shock has even shorten the the banshee shock. But the reason i asked abut the bearing question, like the cheap shock diy for the 250r/atc doesnt work. so yeah

so, after all the tongue lashing i gave you, (theres even guys posting "awks an ahole" in other threads),
how much money did you waste, not listening to us ?????

like i said, i just didnt want you wasting loot, you could'a bought the ken oconnor bushings, new top bolt and bottom pin needed for the trx shock with that loot
