I'm looking to upgrade my video card but don't want to spend alot, was wondering what y'all recommend. Right now I have a Gigabyte gts 250, it's treated me well but I would like to upgrade into dx11 with something decent that won't break the bank.

Not the most beastly specs but I built an AMD phenom x4 black edition running at the stock 3.4 Ghz. It's got 8 gigs of G.Skill ddr3 memory, no problems with it at all. AsRock mobo, I like the OC app it comes with but I wouldn't have bought it if I would have done more research first, it's kinda dated. Also have a 64 GB SSD drive as my main, they are fast!! Power off to full desktop is like 9 or 10 seconds. This setup has been going for over two years now with no problems, and it's decent...it's not the best of the best but I like it. Ohh!! forgot to mention my case, it's the Cooler Master HAF series, it's a bit big but it's rugged as hell and has plenty of room and tons of fan options and liquid cooling grommets in the back. I'm running 6 120mm fans in this bad boy but the mounts are setup so you can run different fan sizes and configurations. This is my favorite piece of the whole build, I recommend it 100%.

I want to answer this question with a question...

Does your mother board have room for ANOTHER card? or only a one slot?

If it has two slots, i would recommend getting another 1gb card the same as you have.

If it only have one slot, check out this site Video Card Devices, Graphics Cards - Newegg.com They have a large selection for anything you need, most stuff isnt too badly priced either. I would try a single 3gb if you are stuck on replacing the current one.

Having two cards will give it more power than one single of the same amount of gb. Also if one overheats (which your desc. probably wont let it lol) the other can take over. They say bigger is better, but you probably want two over one here.

how many cores? dual core? quad core? and as what herp said u can also run another graphic card out ur pci slot and run both of them at the same time. but if you have NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 1GB DDR3 PCI Express (PCIe) DVI/VGA NVIDIA 288-2N103-XXXXX GeForce GTS 250 graphics card then i am assuming that this will be a suitable upgrade for ur system EVGA SSC 01G-P4-3652-KR GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Newegg.com it can run directx11 but its gunna pay out of ur pocket... u can always sell ur old graphics card. But i would need more information on ur exact graphic card but u should upgrade to a geforce gtx 650 regardless.

Maybe I wasn't clear but I want to upgrade to dx11, mine is only dx10. I don't think any amount of cards will out perform a newer card platform. I have no problems really with performance I just want a better quality graphics all around. I guess I will just look around, prob end up buying a 600 series card. Thanks for the replies.
