well took my top end off last night and now that i have it sitting off ready to install new top end im looking at my crank. wondering how hard it would be to remove and install a stroker crank and how muhc better it would possibly be?? any imput is appreciated thanks

its simple to do. just pay attention to details. and use new bottom end bearings. go with the vitos +3 and u will notice a difference in throttle response and overall hp.i have a 3mm in 2 different motors and i am very pleased. make sure u get the cylinder ported and u will be rippin!

a +3 is just like installin a new crank. look under the diys for the manual thing, it should all be in there. not too bad if you are decently mechanically inclined, just keep parts together when ur takin it apart and make sure everything goes back in where it came out of. oh and use hondabond or yamabond on the case halves, don't use the silicon crap.
the +4 you will have to (or have someone else) trench the cases and do head work. either way, get it ported to match :)

yea i was thinking about the plus 3 from vitos. i remember seeing the repair manual in the diy somewhere. can i keep the motor bolted in the frame or does it involve the motor coming out? the head im putting on is ported and milled so it would be a good combo im guessing. with my top end off how long of a job do u think it is? thanks

i bought it straight up. i have my old cylinder still which actually came out to be excellent shape with a psi of 126. but yea his cylinder is supposedly ported and milled with a wiseco piston.

such a dilema to buy or not rite now lol. i have to buy new main bearings or can i reuse mine. they have to be in great shape are they reusable?

yeah, if you're gonna be in there anyway, you might as well drop new bearings.....save you from having to split the cases again in the near future.
and no, there is absolutely no way to install a new crank w/ the motor in the frame. you gotta pull it.....in fact you pretty much have to disassemble the entire motor. this is pretty easy to do if you've got half of 2 brains as long as you've got the right tools. i've split open 2 different blaster motors now and i can do it pretty quickly. in fact the left side case half that i just installed 2 months ago is busted so i'm in the process of doin it again!
as for the stroker. don't even bother w/ the 4 over. just get the +3 crank. i've talked to my boy kennedy_power about this and he says that on the blaster engine the 4 over isn't much better than the +3 (i think he said only on the stock bore). if you do stroke it, don't bother w/ the sh*tty spacer, do it right and get the ports timed by a machinist (i'd highly recommend kennedy, but there are like 3 other dudes in this 4m that offer that service).
did you also get your head reshaped? this is critical for a blaster.

yeah if you already have headwork done ur gonna want to check the squish clearance before you give it a nice hard kick and bust the rod or somthing. remember that +3 stroker moves the piston up another 1.5mm, so if ur squish clearance is less than or equal to 1.5mm right now, if you put that head on with a stroker ur gonna have problems.
