ok i just put in a movie to watch in my xbox 360 and it freezes up so i turn it off then back on and it has the RROD this is like the 5th time its happened they sell sh*t and i dont see how the are in business still that sh*tty microsoft

I have had 2, first one RROD but i bought it used so no suprise returned it got another one worked fine had a issue where you could hear the game but couldnt see it, sent it into microsoft got it fixed they sent it back with a 1 year warranty and a free month of xbox live. I ended up selling it to my friend so i can have money for other things. he played it so much it likely overheated because he is having issues but no RROD

I had one that had well over 300 hours of play time on it, and it was a first gen. Still worked when I sold it, and last I knew it still did. Most of the problem with the 360 was it would get hot and eventually the solider would wear down and burn out, happened mostly to the video processor. Best thing for them is to keep them clean of dust and in the open where they can get lots of air, and don't get one of them aftermarket intercoolers, it will kill it even faster.

is it an elite? because it's mainly the elites that have problems....

I know a bunch of people that have the arcade, including me and no problems at all...

there is a bunch of different chips & heatsinks that where used in the xbox360 to stop the rrod issues - my sons newest one must be kept standing upright in the open or it rrod & pukes till it cools X( his last 360 M$ gave him the boot from online play last xmas 8-| I think, maybe it was just prior to release of the new MW2, that older 360 never over heated & was in an entertainment ctr full of dust for a year +

in case you were wondering the REASON that the xbox360 is designed so poorly is that they cut a lot of R&D corners trying to beat the ps3 onto the market......which they did with enough time to spare that i think they could've done a little better job....

i was gana get a 360 til i herad all the problems so i got a ps3 and never looked back

ps3 had a recall as soon as they came out they was burning up with just 3 hours of constant use. ive had one 360 rr on me and thats because of dust and the heat of where i kept it the one i have now i keep in a better place and clean it with a can of air and havent had a problem since if u dont take care of it might as well expect problems. hell u change ur tranny oil and plugs and clean the filter in a blaster but wont dust a 360 lol

if you've ever taken a 360 apart, you can see why they over heat. Those things are just packed in there with no room for anything to breath. The RROD can be fixed with less than $2 however, i fixed my buddies and it keeps on tickin.

the rrod can be fixed easily with the towel trick, all you do is wrap the 360 up in a towel and turn it on, let it sit for 15-20 minutes unwrap it turn it off and let it cool down. This process of it overheating is supposed to reset everything, not sure if it's true but I do know from past experience it works

thats a temp fix, the way i do it is more of a permanent thing. And just leaving your xbox on wont cause it to RROD, its when your playing a game because thats when the hardware is under load and generating heat, at an idle its not going to do much.

i got a modded one never had problems with but got the intercooler fan on it so it dont get very hot .. probably about to sell it to get my license and a whip though

the red light of death??? alot of my friends who have it pay for the internet and have to get it sent out to be fixed, its not a good system for that reason.. geta ps3 youll love it

buddy had to send his in, they sent him a tag so he could just take it to the UPS store and they boxed it up and sent it in, and he got like 3 free months of xbox llive. at least i was living there at the time so we had another one. my ole arcade is still going strong!
