Another Blaster Build

Im building a budget blaster for a customer so i figured id make a thread to show you guys some pics. The engine is out getting a total rebuild with new crank, case bearings, clutch, piston and bore, and all new seals. I started working on it yesterday and i plan to finish it by the end of the week. I keep everything on hand to fix or build blasters so i have a real good turn around time.


This is the chassis im starting with, ive had it sitting around for about a year started it for a guy who lost his job and bailed on the project. The gold frame was his choice not mine but its got some flash to it i guess.

this is the donor as of yesterday, its got a bent frame so im using it for parts.

And this is how far i got today, ran into some unforeseen problems and had to spend some time rebuilding the rear caliper, and putting new brake pads in the front, so i didnt get as much done as i had planned.

I just put the black seat on to see how it looks im going to use the teal seat to match the plastics.

Im not a big fan of the teal on gold lol but the guy needs to keep the budget as low as possible so we are trying to only use what i already have.

Total build time on this one was about 3 days while working on other stuff at the same time. Its been done for awhile now the guy it was built for lives in chicago hes coming this weekend to pick it up. The quad runs GREAT im kinda sad to see it go but ive already got somebody else who wants one built so gotta keep them rollin i guess.

The motor is totally rebuilt new crank, clutch, piston and bore, seals, the whole deal. The brake pads are all new, new axle bearings, k&n air filter, new grips, and some other stuff IMO hes getting a great deal i know hes more then happy with what hes getting for his money.

Yea i didnt have a set i wanted to give up he would have just had stocks in the rear but i hooked him up on those and i told him ill save him a couple aluminum fronts at some point so they all match.

It always feels good to fire a blaster up after bringing it back from the grave.I:I

I have to agree, never thought I'd like green plastic but it does blend with that frame well!
