just got my blaster back the other day from having a big bore kit put on it, took it out for a light spin today and it bogs down and shuts off, kick starter is stuck...tomorrow i get to take it apart and see the damage :( damn you

im beyond pissed, not sure if it was put back together the wrong way or what, but tomorrow a good friend and i are going to take it apart and see what else i have to dump money on, this just had to happen to me, i did however get some go pro vids of todays ride

so before you ran it you did the leakdown test correct? what did the plug look like?

and before you tear it down, do the leakdown test...you need to figure out WHY it blew up, or it WILL happen again

this is why people get frustrated, they'll melt it down, ONLY replace the parts they know are bad (usually just do a top end) and blow it again.

rinse and repeat till they're out of money and/or bores

when some simple diagnostic work would tell them what was going on in the first place.

i brought it to someone who has a business rebuilding and working on quads, i'm going to tear it apart with my friend who knows anything and everything about them and ill keep blaster forum updated

Also Cleanliness is key, just a tip I learned the hard way when I was a younger. double even triple clean the components in the engine.

also the guy who did my motor said he had it running rich for the break in period, not sure if that has anything to do with the problem

was it making any unusual sounds when u were riding it? first thing i'd look at is if the piston was put in backwards. also i see your running the injector setup, was the oil line put back on the carb right? just some things to look for..

still have the oil injection installed, never had a problem with it and friends who used to own blasters never had any problem with theirs. tomorrow evening the top end is coming apart so ill have to wait until then to see the damage

mhm, you never know about the oil injector. All beacuse someone eleses worked dont mean yours will. And also even if it worked before, dont mean it will work now. But yeah you probably melted the piston cause a few members ran into the same problem. What BBk are you running? Vito's, Flotek? wht

Sounds like a lack of lube failure, provided that whoever worked on the engine knew what he was doing and put it all back together correctly. It is very possible that the piston was put in backwards.

You'll know more when it comes apart tomorrow for inspection. The oil injection system works fine on a stock engine as long as you keep clean oil in the tank and air out of the lines, but I'd get rid of it ASAP with the Vito's kit. It is possible that there was air in the oil injection lines when the engine was put back together, and it was not bled properly prior to being started.

Oil injection could have failed, rings in backwards, piston backwards, sound like a seized piston so possibly no engine oil?

how do you know if the rings are on backwards? the kit that mine came with where the same on both sides,i couldnt even tell the difference :-/
