im looking at getting new wheels and was wondering if going with aluminum is worth it, does anyone know the weight difference and if it will make a noticable difference changing to aluminum?

i have aluminums and my step bro has stock steels....mine are a lot lighter and look cool like blaserdude said.. u can also get diffrent offsets in aluminum which helps the stability

well lets put it this way my blaster is pretty junky i got it for free and just wanted to do some upgrades as cheap as possible and i have a set of 22 tires and am getting a set of 18s so i can switch between the two i was wondering if anyone knew the difference in weight between a steel and say a .160 aluminum wheel and if you would notice any difference in performance

rotational mass.. i forget the exact equation, but 1lb of rotating mass is like 8lb fixed mass to the motor.. the lighter the wheel, the less power is eaten up trying to get them to spin faster.. same goes for stopping... in the end, the exact same quad will accel faster and stop faster (marginally, probably wouldn even notice unless you were timed) with alum wheels.. considering all other things are equal and there isn't a break in traction..

Good point and also a reason not to be tempted to get those new Gorilla axle silverback tires for your Blasty :)
