Just a quick question on air filters: Is the oily sponge thingy that I have bought in my blaster the stock filter? If so, how will it ever survive all the dust and dirt when riding with the lid off? Should it be such a sticky mess at all?
It should be sticky with filter oil but you have to clean it every time it gets too dirty and then apply new filter oil. that is the down side of ridding in very dusty area's
Honestly I do not know if I should be worried at all? I have read somewhere on the forum that you can oil it using 2-Stroke? If that is the case, what do I use to clean it?
i use varsol spaint thinner mixed with water in a bowl. then i mushed my filter around in it till it was clean. let it dry, then oil it using filter oil. air filter oil is better because its more tacky so it catches more dirt. if u clean it regularily u shouldnt have any problems.
sometimes the gas will eat the glue that holds it together, i do use dawn, but it doesnt seem to take all the filter oil off, still sticky after, but gets the dirt off good
