airbox restriction

hey, i am getting a 250r carb. 34mm.

i am thinking i will need to really stretch the hose comming from the airbox over the carb so i was thinking of just ripping it out and putting some nice round pipe in there instead of the crappy smashed rubber thing. is this the part that is most restrictive about the stock airbox and is it why people get/make custom airboxes? i don't see what is different about just the box, but the pipe i think would make a difference in airflow.

do you run closed air box, thats what makes it restrictive, i just took my lid off and jetted, big differnce and sound

yeah i got the top taken off. still don't know about that hose tho...

if you dont ride in wet and muddy places you could just get a uni clamp on, but it would be best to keep some sort of a airbox eventho i think that a stock air box and hose wouldnt let a 34mm breathe the way it would want to
