Air Intake doubt...

Ok so i was thinkin running no airbox cover on my raptor but i got to thinkin, the intake breathes through a small hole right and the air enters through there and it goes through the air filter. BUT if i remove the airbox lid wont the air be going straight through the carb and not passing by the filter?? :-/ meaning more dirt will get into the engine.:-/

You can remove the air box lid. Air still has to go through the air filter before it enters the carb.

its basically the same type of airbox, and thanks i already figured it, just that i got confused with another airbox was looking at in a website and that kinda grew the question lol.
