Ok I know everyone out there runs something diffrent but really is the best? K&N, K&N with outerwear, or just a good oiled foam filter? I race hare scrambles and have just ran foam filter. I see all my friends run K&N with outwear??
I have run with both. the K&N's will out flow the foam a little, but not enough to notice. But, the k&n also lets small particles of dust past. I have torn down many motors running K&N's and they will have a fine film of dust in the intake. The motors running foam filters will be clean inside if properly serviced.
Exactly what Wildcard said. We went thru 3 cylinders in 3 races one year until we went back to a Uni Filter, then all was fine. In my experiences, K&N are good for street use only, bikes and cars.
I run a clamp on k&n right off of my 34pj and I havent had any problems with it so far. I can see where they may not filter out as much as a foam filter but like I said from personal experiance I have not had ne problems so far. KNOCK ON WOOD!
yeah everyone has there prefrences, the guy that runs the shop at my dealership, he also has a machine shop and a personal motorcycle garage, said with a blaster a stock filter is about the best you can get but i run a uni myself
Not to say ne thing bad about the guy but to be honest with you the blaster's stock air intake is very poorly designed airbox and intake tube. Not sure if thats what you ment or if you were just talking about the filter itself.
