Hey all. I am a 17 year old who wants an ATV, like the rest of the world. I'm wondering if a blaster is a good first ATV for me. I am 150lbs and rather small. and yes, I am a noob when it comes to ATV's. I also want to be able to at least keep up with my friends 400, but I don't have to beat it. Thanks for the input!

I sent an email to Flotek asking them what i could get for 400 bucks this is what they said:race porting, cut and mod the head ,mod the shift star lighten the flywheel advance the timing port the cases
loads of other options as well

trust the builders on this site. you can get more power fairly reasonably, it is the handling and suspension that is more difficult. if you are mechanically inclined then that is not a problem either. blasters are tuff quads that many people underestimate! that is too bad- as I am a large person and I like the quad. my next engine is going to have more power (check my signature) than a 400ex and be a bit smaller. I will lose my friends in mountains where we ride tight single track. another plus is the availability and prices of parts and it is down right cheap to rebuild one of these (coparatively speaking) I:I

Welcome to the site! Honestly.. with the right mods you could keep up to the 400 no worries! Just like Mr. Peacher said all the help to keep up to them 400s is here! And honestly
the Blaster is a great all around affordable quad! I would highly suggest it!

Cheers and Welcome!

I would have to say yes a blaster is a great starter quad, easy to work on also.
if your in the trails , no 400's gonna leave you behind, in the straight away hell get you on the top end
