NEW YORK
ok, this is my first oil injected bike. (1995 yfs200) i read the other posts on oil injection, and it says that the mix is 20:1. um, not mine, it cant be. i like to see smoke coming out of my pipe(for 2-strokes), that way i know everything is ok. but, this blasters exhaust was barely visible, i mean i had to squint to see any blue. so i've been adding 75% 93 octane gas, and 25% of my 250Rs premix (100+octane 30:1 with yamalube). now the smoke is visible, but far from excessive. this worries me, and i'm thinking about ordering a vitos block off kit so i can regulate the gas oil mixture. any feedback on this would be great.
and when i wheelie to 11o'clock (3"extended swingarm and stock grab bar!) oil dumps onto the road :o , is it injected 2 stroke or gearcase oil?

Yamahas oil injection is about indestructable, it depends on the oil your using as for the ratio, you said yamalube if it is Yamalube 2 you do mix it at 20:1, if its the R pre-mix its 32:1

MOST yamaha oil injection is indestructable but on a blasty it is baaaaalls. take that sh*t off there and premix with some good oil like klotz benol or R50. why would you want to mix yamalube 20-1? that is crazy rich, 32-1 is fine.

take that injections pump off. I recommend that for the first mod anyone should do on a blasty, that way you know for sure that its mixed right, extra security, i have seen too many blaster blow up because of those shotty pumps. I run 110 octane, with klotz at 40:1 and it still smokes pretty good.

some say that the blaster injection pump is "indestructable", but i have seen first hand that pos fail and burn up a motor on my best friends blaster. i took mine off before i had a problem with it. so i would advise that you take it off.

i'd def take it off...see i used to think that too until we went out riding all night during the winter..and it ended up being pretty cold..about 5-10 degrees F...and well i made it about 10 ft in a drag race and it blew up because it didn't get enough oil....we kinda figured it happended because if you look at the line coming from the oil tank all the way to the motor there is nothing to warm that oil up so it seems like in the very cold it doesn't get to the motor enough..idk just a thought...and yeah def i'd take it off and i run 32:1 plus a lil extra oil here and there just to give some love ;)

DO NOT mix yamalube at 32:1 mix it at 20:1 it is not a synthetic oil and is made for injectors, but if you do pre-mix 1 qt. to 5 gals. and adding extra oil to a proper mix will cause it to run lean, you probably blew it up for a lack of fuel not oil, benol is a definate no in cold temps it seperates real fast and as it sits eats the octane out of the gas, also remember he has a stock blasty you guys with 240 kits are no where near stock and must pre-mix, a stocker oil pump all day!

idk man i never thought a like 2 stroke would blow up because of having to much oil?...i mean i just thought it would foul some plugs? idk i've never had any accounts of it before and whatnot...idk im probably wrong but either way just throwin it out and i've always heard of people running somewhere near 32:1 or 30:1? atleast for like new england type of weather which has changes constantly

ckk the average pre-mix oil is synthetic Yamalube is not, Kawasaki (I think) did a study on how much oil is needed to keep a motor alive and it was like 128 to 1 but it ate the bearings cylinder piston assy all due to a lack of lube, 32 to 1 is a great pre-mix ratio for 90% of all oils, pre-mix oils, yamalube 2 is not a pre-mix oil, if you add extra oil to the fuel it displaces the gas which cools the motor, the motor will run hotter, oil by rites doesn't burn very well, try running 10w30 in your blaster it will smoke and smell like crap and in the 60's that is what Yamaha recommended in their bikes! this is why we have to have spark arrestors on our bikes, back then the oil would coat the top of the piston due to it not being able to burn it and then it would flake off and come out the pipe as a glowing red hot cinder and catch forests on fire, just follow ea. manufacturer that makes the oil, the only problem is some people buy oil because it smells good I use benoil if I'm running alcohol as it mixes other then that Yammie R is the best pre-mix available

lol, i guess everybodys got thier opinions. i really dont agree with most of yours but hey this is america baby!!! lol I:I I:I

i gotcha for sure that makes total sense...i think it depends on where you ride how you ride and your preference but i do see what you are saying...i didn't see the yamalube part either so yeah it's for injectors so...either way preference

you answered the ? its for injectors so that means it will mix with fuel, synthetics like Yamalube "R" (man made to stricter tolerances) are made to do different things, Yammie R has an additive that actually increase octane in the fuel, but like most if it sits in a can long enough it will effect the octane of the fuel try and mix fuel as needed never have it sitting around.
