Advantages of milling head?

it'll increase the compression, giving more power assuming it won't detonate, but it'll usually mean higher operating temps.

a better option is to have the head redesigned, not just milled.

Redesigned: Modification of combustion chamber shape and/or size for more efficient burning of fuel.

I thought you were getting that cool head? That has replaceable chamber inserts to modify compression.

Ya i was going to get the cool head but if milling the head or redesigning is gives me more power then to hell with it, i think ill just run the bike rich 20:1 probably that way im safe...

bumping the compression by shaving .015-.020" will not increase the cylinder temp enough to worry about it. It will though increase compression enough to notice the difference.

Some simple mods that make the lil blaster motor work well are:

Shaving .015-.025" off the head. ($40)
Lightening the flywheel 1-2oz. ($40)
Advancing the timing 2.5-4.0 degrees ($40)
Setting the spark plug gap to .018" (free)
Installing a new Coil boot ($5)
Installing a OEM banshee left side carb (26mm) (on eBay for $40 for the pair)
Aftermarket Reeds ($40-75)
K&N Filter with outer wear (pod style $55)
Aftermarket exhaust ($150)

a lightening flywheel is garbage for trail riding. it is only good for drag racing.

also why use a banshee carb? it is the same size and similar design to a stock blaster. plus it had the hole for the choke tube.

and shaving the head will pump up compression which will make your engine run hotter.
when you are riding in 90F+ temps, it is enough to worry about it.

if you are worried about it overheating, run it at 20:1 premix ratio. this will help keep the engine cooler.
you could also use the aluminum tape and put it on the underside of the tank. this will help keep the fuel cooler which will help lower the temps a little.
