As you may have noticed in my other thread I have been having some chain tension issues lately. Hopefully fixed ASAP, but anyways, I just wanted to mention that while trying to loosen the carrier, I thought it was as loose as it would get (chain tension wise) but it was hitting my aftermarket skid plate. I think it's a DG skid, or made by DG, it's aluminum, flat on the bottom, and pretty well banged up, but still in tact and protecting my sprocket/rotor. I had to drop the rear of the skid to get the carrier to go all the way to the front (chain at loosest setting). Never had to do that before...as the other blaster had a different skid and I thought this one was tight!! Looks to me just the nature of the design of the skid?? It was kinda a PITA to get the rear skid bolts lined back up again, but I got it done.
Just wanted to share my experience and see if anyone had run into a similar situation.
