Adjusting a 35mm air striker?

the reason it made no difference is because you are already too rich so taking out the pilot made it worse. I wouldn't think it was a casting flaw but i could be wrong. where did ya get it?

I have a bad carb! I took the pilot out and it still made no change. I took apart the carb again and forced air through the pilot system. I could feel air in the throat more when there was no pilot in there. When I put the pilot in then you had to use about 30psi before you feel air. The hole in the throat by the main is extremely tiny.Maybe this one had a casting problem, who knows.

I would have to say there is a blockage of some sort or as u describe a bad carb. Can you get a pic of the carb with thje pilot jet out? I will compare it to mine.

Scot, Loosing the spring huh? Never thought of that! But, Wouldn't the idle screw work it's way in or out from vibration. That spring is like a lock washer, keeps it all tight. I could be way of base here but that is my understanding.

mine hasn't moved yet. still idles like a champ and I did everything in the world to get it there before civicdude took that spring off. problem fixed imediately

I removed the spring on mine as well and ran the screw all the way in so I had about 3/16 of an opening on the slide. It still would not idle. It has to be a bad carb.

if, as you stated above, that you think something(casting) is clogging the pilot jet passage, and it were mine, i'd try using an "awl", or some other thin, pointy object to clear that passage, i don't think the size hole in the throat matters, the size pilot will determine the flow ????

I tried running a piece of speaker wire in it but there was to many angles inside for it to maneuver through it. I ordered another carb this morning. That one is going back to the manufacturer and they will issue me a refund after inspection.

ultimate solution !!!!!!!!

and i mistook it as the pilot passage, which is straight
you must be talkin bout the air/fuel screw passage

I just talked to a guy at carb parts wharehouse and he says he has never seen a bad kiehin carb. He said that I need a 6.0 slide versus the 4.5 that came with the carb.
The pilot passage on this is not straight. It makes a 90 degree turn just above the pilot jet housing. Then it splits in two directions and goes to two small holes in the throat of the carb.

What? so it's not the slide! Can you get a pic of the space where the pilot jet sits? I'm curoius to see what the hell is going on. This one has me stumped.

just paste the img code
