If I buy the extended swingarm from the swingarm shop what extra stuff will I need to buy to make it work?

Its says "Complete with Bearings Bushings Seals Installed" and " Fits perfect on any year BLASTER with a stock or after-market axle carrier & shock"

I'm thinking I will need to order a longer chain and a extended rear brake line. Anything else I'm missing?

Right now I have the Motion Pro Yamaha Blaster Rear Brake Kit. How far can I get the swingarm extended if I buy the extended +4 motion pro brake kit. I was thinking about going with the +6 one since this isn't a trail bike and it would look sick. Also the fact the thing wants to do wheelies all the time. It will be used more for for riding in the streets during snow season and around tracks, not tight narrow trails.

Thanks for any feedback.

All your going to need is the longer brake line and a few extra links for your chain. You will notice the rear shock will seem "softer" with the longer swingarm too.

That was the other thing I was thinking about. The geomatry or leverage will be different. Using the factory shock even though you can will put more stress on a already so so shock. Can upgraded shocks that fit the stock swingarm work with the extended one with no problems? Can the YFZ450 rear shock work with this swingarm?

Thanks again everyone for the info so far.

freek, jackson and a few others are running +4 swingers with yfz450 rear shocks. I'm sure they'd help you out with any questions you may have

Well I own a yfz450 shock now. I'll use it with the factory swingarm till I buy a extended one. Ebay is going to take all my winter tattoo money.... thanks to me for buying a blaster.

I guess it would put less stress on the suspension with a +4 instead of a +6, plus I dont know where I would get a brake cable that would work with a +6. Anyone know what to do if I must have the +6 as for as a brake line?

As far as jumping, Im not going to be getting any big air. Will be using it more for around town and tracks if I can find any.

Got my +4 from 2manysprees on ebay for 200.00 shipped painted with 3yr warranty. all the ebay aftermarket look the same. You mush have to thrash it really hard, it is much sturdier than stock. The +4 cable is more like +5 but you probably would have to make a new brake bracket or mod it to move forward. They make other cables, tomorrow i can measure my +4 cable. They make all kinds of foot brake cables for honda maybe one with the right length? As far as shock softness all i did was set the preload up more.

Thanks. So if I get the +4 swingarm the +4 brake cable will be fine? Does anyone know what cable will work with the +6 swingarm?

Yes and with the cable only going to the footbrake it stops much better. The few i've seen with +6 have hydro which is an easy extended hose so idk.

i have a +4 swingarm..with a kfx400 rear shock, and i love it...do not just add a few links to your chain, you can get a did non o ring for under $30 off ebay, get a 520 112 link, i had to take like 5 links or so off.very easy ....stock brake line length is 24" , i got a 30" from ebay for cheap and it works great and was perfect length.(mine is hydro)...not sure what year yours is.....you may need a cable...i also did away with my parking break while i had it all apart....

I got a motion pro shorty brake cable for my +4 swinger and YFZ rear. I am not 100% sure but I am pretty sure that you could get that cable to work for a +6. Now dont go out buying a +4 and trying it on your +6 swinger saying that fabb said it would work.

I wrote "Motion Pro Yamaha Blaster Rear Brake Kit" up top but meant the one that did away with the park brake. I agree with you guys much better with the shorty cable.

I guess I'll sell the standered shorty cable I just got and buy the shorty motion pro +4 brake cable one instead.

As for as the chain I ordered the front, back sprocket and chain (non o ring) package a few days ago on here....

Can I just order a short did chain and add to the chain?

No I wont hold you responsible=))

I'll wait a day or two and see if anyone can confirm if the +4 cable will work on a +6 swingarm. If I can find a cable that will work I'll go with the +6. If not I'll get the +4.

I think the +4 swingarm is a good combination of function and looking cool. But I cant help not thinking of the cool factor of the +6. I saw a picture on here that looked like a +8 or more... It looked crazy!

All I know is I need a extended one for sure, its hard to keep the front on the ground in stock form.

if I got the shorty brake cable would it reach or would I have to find one that will fit if I was to extend my swingarm +2?

Im new here, but if I had to guess no. I have the standered shorty cable and its just right with the stock swingarm. Theres alittle room but I'm sure you need it for suspension travel.

Well I read all the pages on suspension and made up my mind. i'm going to get the +4 swingarm. I think its a better all purpose size for my use.

I'm going to put a yfz450 shock I just bought on it. Since I'm putting it on a extended swingarm do I have to cut the bottom of the shock and drill new holes, or will it bolt right in as is? I couldn't find a exact diy on installing this shock.

Thanks for any info
