a few races from this weekend.

Damn dude, I could watch the video of that blasty laying the smackdown on an LTR450 and a KFX700 all day long....

I like the yell at the end. Good job man!

Thanks SI. Yeah i was excited.. i even did a lil wheelie show down the back stretch after the win.. i typically don't show off much sometimes i do a lil donut or something but i was pumped for this one.. i've been tryin all season to knock that 700 out of the 1st position. :) GOTTA THANK MY WILDCARD RACING ENGINE!

I haven't raced flat track at all, and haven't done much quad racing at all.... However I have done quite a few sport bike road courses.... So heres my 2 cents... Take it as you will, not bashing you at all so please dont take it that way. Just offering a little info from my experience....

I watched pretty much every second of those vids beginning to end and never saw you hit the front brakes once... What they taught me in racing school is the race is won on the brakes. Brake later, brake harder, and you will improve your times. With a blaster this improves that much more because its a extremely LIGHT quad. Try staying on the throttle a little more into the turn and the tape the brakes to transfer the weight to the front and make turning/sliding easier. Hard to tell from the helmet cam but doesn't seem like u are leaning very far off either...

All in all great job man! I'd love to do some flat track racing and will do it one day! Thanks for sharing the vids! Rep given!

Thanks for the Rep and the opinions. I will start with.. i have a '91 Blaster with DRUM front brakes.. LOL.... enough said.. hahaha i use my hydraulic rear brake to set it up for the corner. also i am 6'3 and lean all the way off the left of the seat. usually my thigh is across the seat and my but is close to sitting on my boot. the helmet cam is on TOP of my helmet so it's way up there and hard to tell body english. i typically beat most guys into the corner as i am so much lighter that i can drive in farther and turn sharper with less effort cuz it's light and short. EVENTUALLY i will be able to get hydraulic fronts and a swaybar. but until i get a major money sponsor.. i have to do it on a budget. Thanks for the replies guys. and hope you all enjoy. :) I:I

That stuff might work on pavement where you can rely on the back end to pretty much stay inline with the front end OR it does't matter anyway because it steps around and your behind is on the pavement in an instant.

On dirt, diving into the corner and stabbing the front brakes will slide the back end around until the quad is sideways and lose time. The LTR did an excellent job of demonstrating that the video where he got the holeshot but couldn't hold on. He slid into the corner, the backend slid out, and he had to let out of the throttle to get it to step back in line before he was all the way backwards and out of the race.

Sadler rode a BLASTER to win flattrack against a LTR450 and a KFX700, perhaps you should be asking him questions about HIS technique...

Yeah.. that's my Buddy Scott. he comes down from Michigan to race me. we race in 2 classes.. Woodsman which is run what ya brung but no pro riders. the other is SMALL BORE where he rides a yellow 330ex in my other video. he has beat me EVERY week since May and i FINALLY got him. LOL. i've gotten close all year long but never could get the job done. hence my reason for a small bit of aggressiveness.. LOL this was our next to last round and he already locked up the championship in both classes, cuz i blew the motor and missed a round this year and 2nd through 6th are too far behind him to catch up. but i am now tied for 2nd in points in smallbore and 4th in woodsman.. so it was an ALL OUT WEEKEND for me.. pretty much Checkers or Wreckers

The back end by NO means stays in line at the speeds sport bikes go, even with a slipper clutch and amazing front brakes. It wiggles all over the place like you are on gravel because you go into turns at 100mph+ not 20-30mph.

I'm not saying he should lock the brakes up, but he didn't use the fronts at all. Now that I know he has drum brakes I understand why he doesn't use them... They don't do anything... The other quads don't appear to be setup for flat track racing and the riders didn't look too experienced so that will play a huge roll in who wins as well. Not just the quad.

Props to him for winning but I don't own a blaster so his tips probably wont be as helpful on a quad that has 3 times the horsepower, more weight, and better brakes as well as suspension....

I'm not attacking him just going by what I noticed from the vid and trying to help out. He has it covered though.

Props to you for keeping your cool I:I

For the record the rider on the 700 has ridden flat track for MANY years and is also the same guy on the Yellow 330ex in my Small Bore class vids. the LTR450 is a First Year rider on a friends quad that is a full flat track setup. u can tell he still hasn't gotten comfortable with it being sideways. :) however i am by no means COMPLETELY setup for flat track either.. i don't have a swaybar and the only widening i have done is offset rims. i have lowered it but i can still go 6 inches wider and be within regulations. Thanks for watching and i appreciate your opinion. Hope you enjoy and subscribe.

jlsparky i see your from SoutheEaster Michigan.. where abouts? the guy on the 700 and then the yellow 330 in my other class is from adrian. I also know a few other Michigan Guys.. Bill and Tyler Deister, J.R. Hunt, Shawn McClemore, Scott Casteele. don't know if you know any of them but thought u might of heard of them if you've ever been to the Onstead TT track.
