Hello Im new here and i have just bought a 96 Blaster and the problem I am having is that when i kick it i have too give it gas to start and idle soon as i let off the gas the blaster dies or when i go to rev it up it stops and bogs at around half throttle it smokes really bad even tho i already replaced all the seals and i have noticed the whole entire TORS system has been taken off even off the top of the carb i do not know where to idle screw is on the carb or why it wont rev all the way up i ordered a new piston and rings they are not in yet but i just want too see what all you guys think what is going on

PLEASE HELP!:-/:-/:-/

The idle screw will be left side of carb, directly in the center, brass, flathead screw.

You need to perform a leak test since you replaced the seals.

If you didnt measure the bore on your cylinder, you probably ordered the wrong size piston.

Does the smoke stink?

The Smoke smells like gassy oil but i expect that for a 2 stroke but heres a kicker the guy i bought it from said he put a banshee piston in it and isnt the a stock blaster bore 66mm and banshee a 64mm? and how do i do a leak test and also me and a friend spent a good amout of time cleaning the carb

I really doubt that a Shee piston would work!

Did you set the float level and idle and air screw to the correct settings?

Float level should 20 to 21.5mm on a stock carby.

you want to turn the carb and hold it on a slight angle to measure the float height, like shown here......

it should just barely be touching the inner needle, not depressing it,

It is possible to check the fuel level by attaching a length of clear plastic tubing to the drain nipple , lifting it up the side of the carby, and cracking the drain screw.

The fuel should show in the pipe to the level of the carb body above the float bowl gasket.

Idle adjusting.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS it is the big screw under seat on top of unit. With no TORS is is the brass screw midway down carb body.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs or until the motor to responds.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

If the leak test checks out and there are no leaks then I would suggest pullin the carb and checking what size main jet is installed ... Perhaps the main is wayy too rich and could be causing the motor to choke when you rev it half to full throttle ? Also check your float height while your in there !
