i need to add some inches since i ended up pulling a dummy move and buying dirt bike bars for my blaster so i want to get a banshee steering stem but while researching i get conflicting story's

some say any year banshee stem will bolt right up to any year blaster, others say its a year specific thing but dont really go into detail.

so can anyone else help me? considering you can find banshee stems for $30 all day but bar spacers only give you an inch and cost $40 anyway why not lol then if i need more i can add bar spacers anyway

well i talked to a member on this forum.....
cant remember his name
that gad a warrior stem its 3 inches longer....
and any year fits...

how did he do it without having to grind the hell out of the warrior stem? i bought one and me and a buddy ended up spending 2 hrs grinding the bottom down to size to make it fit into the bottom mount

I don't think either stem bolts right up.The banshee stem needs to be machined down at the bottom.I believe the same for the warrior. But it is a lot cheaper than an aftermarket stem.If you want close to an inch use the DIY in this forum.Just get another set of stock clamps and flip it with longer bolts.

Got my banshee stem welded up tonight. Pretty easy. Just hacksawed all the way around the bottom part of the stem on both pieces. The piece you would have to machine down comes right out and then the blaster bottom piece fits right in. Everything stays nice and lined up. Welded up and then your done.

Is it safe to have the mounting 3" higher?? Just playing devil's advocate here.

I've seen clamps break, and then it's no fun getting home.....but I guess it's different on a dirt bike where you know the bars are going to be hitting the ground hard every now and then. Sorry, just ignore my out-loud thoughts!!
