I just got a 96 blaster to play around on and trying to get some kinks worked out on it. First off ive got a 02 that i bought new and ive never had 1 problem with it. it still has the oil injector on it and the brakes work just fine. (that seems to be the main prob with these) The 02 is as fast as my 05 400ex and this 96 model seems like its about as fast as a golf cart. When i got it, it didnt have rear brakes the idol was way to high and it had no air filter. So far i have put a air filter on and i drained the gas and cleaned out the carb and fixed the back brakes, it needs a shorter cable tho its barely working now. The oil injector has been blocked off but it is a mess there is silicone all over the motor im going to try and clean it up and make sure everything was done correctly which i doubt it. I was wondering if maybe somebody would have some pics of what its suppose to look like so i could try to fix it and also the idol screw doesnt effect the idol. maybe a air leak somewhere? so far its running way better but it should still be faster. Sorry this is so long

After i cleaned the carb out and ran new gas in it, it ran way better its not far off from stock now. but i do plan on doing those tests. ill let u know soon as i find out. any idea where i can get some pics on the oil injector?

make sure the inlet on the carb, where the oil line went, is plugged, or it's gonna fry

Well i found out why the idol screw doesnt do anything. its been loosend all the way and striped out. the oil injection looks like it was done right on the outside of the motor it just looks like a crappy job. I checked the reeds also and i know they are suppose to set flat, but are they suppose to be flat all the way around or just at the top. These are flat at the top and the bottom has a small gap. thanks for the help guys
