So I bought a 94 blaster from a frienx for 200 and he said he was having a problem with the carb kept clogging got tired of cleaning the carb and needed money. Question is what would keep doing that? Just not cleaning it good? This is my first 2stroke what are some good mods to do to it? Any problems these bikes have I need to look out for?

first thing to do is clean the filter and check for any leaks between there and the carb, then clean the carb,,,good

Honestly not trying to be funny but get rid of the bad gas and flush it out. use nothing less than 90 octang gas mixed with 3 1/2 ounces to 4 onces of a premix oil and it will make your motor last for a good long time. I prefer Amsoil dominator race oil it's like 10 bucks a quart which is pretty cheap for the most part. You mix the gas and oil together and pour it in the gas tank via seperate jug to be exact because it matters. If you have a square ish looking box/tank opposite of the pipe your premix oil will more than likely have to poured in there but check if it is still connected by hoses to the side of the carb. Most people get what is called a oil/premix block off kit for like 20 tops cause their faulty in most cases and arent good if you want to keep your new blaster running healthy for a while. Post more questions or pictures if you can. Me and everyone else will gladly help. PM me if ya need help with things. Thanks alot for the input! much appreciated.. yea i only use 90 octane. May other quad is a 04 TRX450R so i know a bit about quads and how NOT to use cheap gas. as far as flushing out the old gas i will do but pretty sure i dont have too seeing as the other day when i had 2 seconds to look at the quad it looked out of gas. quad is at a buddy's house cuz i dont have room at the house im renting. so i'll get pics when i can havent even had time to really look at the quad yet. one thing i did notice but didn't have time to investigate yet as a hole in the clutch case idk what its for? maybe a wire? the shape looks like this -> D... (ovalish with a flat spot anyone know?) but i'll drain any gas that is left looks for leaks and check the air filter and clean it. any thing else to look for? maybe and a filter to the gas line?

Didn't say if the dirt was in the bowl or in the throat of the carb. Clean the carb, petcock, tank, air filter, boot that connects filter to carb. Try to figure out why/how the dirt is getting in there.

LOL o geez....So i asked me buddy the other night on facebook what happened when the quad died... his response " it acted like it ran out of gas"....me: probably cuz when i looked in the tank there wasn't any gas... wow so when i get a chance to get back to my buddy's house im going to fill up the tank and see if that was the problem. Also ordered my exhaust today so im excited for that!
