72.5mm piston

I hate to say it, but this same issue has been covered a BUNCH. If you searched big bore piston there's even whole threads devoted to it.

The vito's brand pistons are cast. They'll work ok but like any cast piston there's always the chance that if anything happens (super lean condition, over heating) that the piston could crumble.

Forged pistons are really more durable and if something happens to the engine, usually forged pistons gouge to the cylinder wall but they generally stay in one piece.

Wossner makes a forged big bore piston (when they're available) and wiseco makes a big bore piston available through Vito's (when they're available!). The only big bore pistons which have always been in stock are the vito's cast pistons.

Can the Bottom end handle the 20%displacment from the bbk? It a brand new crank berings connecting rod and seals. Is a bigger crank needed? Is a bigger carb needed.(stock)

The crank can physically handle the big bore kit with no problem.

The stock carburetor is NOT up to the task of feeding that beast. I recommend at least a 30mm carb but ideally a Keihin PJ34 or Mikuni TM34.

You CAN buy one new for between $150 and $250 but I don't recommend that route really. I recommend searching the for sale threads for PWK, PJ, or TM series carburetors. Used PWK, PJ or TM carburetors are generally in as good a shape used as they survive really well.

In order to fit the larger carb you'll also need a larger diameter intake manifold, a throttle cable "for TORS removal", and something done about the intake "elephant trunk" runner intake tube.
