Hi, guys, I have never asked a question on here but I read it all the time.I have a 1989 Blaster that was froze up and I had it bored and a new piston and rings installed. I fired it up and it leaked gas from the bottom of the chain cover. So I cleaned and rebuilt the carb and put it back together. It started 2nd kick and ran pretty good. I reved it up 2 times and it made a little tinking sound and shut off. I have spark and gas and it will not fire. It kind of sounds dead when I try to kick start it. I tried to pull start it but I got nothing. I have read and seen you guys help with many problem PLEASE help me get this thing running. Thanks

I don`t mean to sound stupid but they make a holder to hold the flywheel to get the nut off? I have an impact but again I don`t want to sound stupid but is the nut left or right threaded?

Hi, I just checked my compression and it`s 75lbs. Any ideas what I did to this thing? I`m going to pull the head and jug today and see if I can find anything. Thanks

your topend is toast!, you will probably need a bore/hone job and new rings, so you might as well do some upgrading like new piston, p/p from one of the guys on here, wildcard, kennedy flotek, all reputable, ask anyone on here, put a 3 or 4 mil stroker in it, whichever, if you got the money for it. or if you wanted to get the vitos bb kit or ct racing kit

Hi, I took a compresion test and it was 75lbs. I took the motor apart and found that the piston had big grooves down the side and the rings were stuck in the grooves. The guy that bored it said thst I must have not cleaned the cylinder good enough after he bored it. I was under the idea that he was supposed to clean it. My mistake, so I NEED A NEW PISTON, RINGS AND GASKETS AGAIN. Thanks for all the help.

make sure to lubricated the cylinder walls before inserting the piston and make sure the rings line up with the gap to where it tells you.

I honed the cylinder and put in a new piston and rings and it fired right up. Do I have to do the breakin all in one day? Time is a problem. How many times do I need to run it to break it in again?

Welcome and no you don't have to break it in all in one day. If you have the time to do that you could. We've gone on camping trips and were able to break in new motors. Wasn't much fun but it was done in one day....:)
