Alright guys you can see pics in the introduction area for now but I just bought a blaster with a 500ex motor in it from an 88 ninja it's currently not running and from the looks of it might need a bit of work I'm not sure, so thought I'd just make a thread hope nobody minds too much and please be patient on this build and a very hefty thank you for all the advice I'm sure I will get.

So when I bought it I was told it just needed a wire harness, so I got one just the wire harness ( kind of feel stupid thought feels like I would need a Cdi etc??? Just thought about that part when I got home well guys still has the "brain and other pieces he thinks I will need) anybody chime in there by chance? I ran across a link where someone says they are pretty simple to wire, but of course I lost it. Anyways that's it for now might get something going tonight just kind of depends. But yeah just thought it would be a fun ride if I get it going. Hopefully I can lol
 
Sorry guys still no super progress but I got the Cdi junction box and such today just trying to figure out the best way to run my harness. Tried tonight for a few but no results. If anyone has a diagram on simplest way to wire it that'd be hugeee help. Although not many people chimed in yet.
 
run it along the frame maybe? I haven't tried running a ninja harness along a blaster frame recently haha

those engines are kind of big
Has the frame been lengthened any ??
How does the fuel tank fit ???

88blaster on here was doing a ninja motor swap, toss him a pm!

Ok sorry can't help you much about wireing
i'll bet you'l need a reg/rectifirer 3coil connections ,1 ground and 1 live(+)
and the cdi witch sould have like 6-7 wires high/low rpm trigger, switch and ground maybe kickstand sensor also
and 2 coils (+) and ground
starter relay (2 thin,ground and one thick wire to starter)
Everiting else sould be street stuff

Yeah there's a lot of wires in the harness lol trying to do away with some but now I'm off work and have to do lawn, gay. Hopefully after that I can get into it for a few I'm missing a coil ATM but got a free one just gotta meet up with the guy at some point
 
that gave me a headache even looking at that, best of luck to you man! I will be watching for progress.
 
Motors even have same harness just got to fig out where it all goes Im about to look attheharnesone more time.

Just stripped the harness to wires lol

Well I'm at a full halt ended up getting the day off and have tried god what seems like everything still can't get the motor to even turnover and at this point it's all I want.

Is there any easy way to wire a bike lol I've been searching....but nothing. Just wish I could do starter to battery to button and be done.

You should have a starter relay (botton center right on the diagram above)
it should have two bolts that connect two thick wires (red ) one from batt (+) to relay and one from relay to starter .
next connect the batt (-) to a good ground
The relay should also have two small spade connectors ? or a 2 pin plug ?
Connect one connector to ground and "TOUCH" the other one to the batt (+) it should now turn on the starter
