i just pick up my first blaster and the guy told me the wrong oil was ran in and thats why the piston melted its been bored 50 over anyone else have any ideas on what it could be?

this is what the guy told me

"has 2 new itp holeshots on the back with douglas wheels and the front are stock has a type 2 dg exhaust new brakes i rebuilt the motor about 8 months ago and the pistons and rings went out cause the wrong oil was put in it and it got hotand burnt the piston and ringsout of it."

i havn't bought it yet but i was thinking about it. should i even mess with buying it?

if the price is right, sure. Blaster's are pretty easy to work on since theres not much to them.

basically i have i just have to go get it but i was just checking to make sure the problem wasn't terrible

sounds pretty minor. a basic top end rebuild; piston, rings, gaskets, wrist pin and roller bearing. new plug is also recommended. we're looking at like $130 or so.
so a blaster for like $640 total. not bad!!
