5 mil long rod

The blaster pistons are shorter from CL of the wrist pin to the timing edge of the piston crown,that makes up for the added rod length without using a spacer
 
From my research over the past year, long rods extend the life of motors. There is less stress on the rod/piston as there is less of an angle when force is received/applied. There should be less ring flutter, allow you to rev higher without ring damage. Longer strokes bring ring flutter down in the rpms, longer rods raise that. Ring wear should decrease with a longer rod. It's the higher RPMs that kill.
