if you do not use a spacer then you will have to have your head machined for the stroke, this also the case with long-rod kits. i have spoken with a few builders about which is best +3,+4, or +6 and they said that it depends. they all agreed that the +3 is by far the easiest (read: least expensive) to make work. they also had differing opinions on using spacers for the blaster- on a banshee they said it is a no no... but some felt that the blaster did not need the head milled for the stroker as the spacer provided enough room to adjust the port timing. the best thing to do is talk with the person who is going to do your engine work.
