i am getting a 240 big bore kit soon and was wondering if i throw in a 4mm crank do i have to get ports to match the stroker?

your best bet would be to get a 3 mill and have your ports matched for that, its a pain from what i hear getting them right for the 4mm. i think mine ill be running no base gasket just to make it right..

the +4 you will need to trench your cases and have the cases bored so the piston clears at BDC,some stock bore engines will clear but with a big bore its a must to have them bored also.Thats probibly why no one likes the +4s,they are "to much work"

if you do not use a spacer then you will have to have your head machined for the stroke, this also the case with long-rod kits. i have spoken with a few builders about which is best +3,+4, or +6 and they said that it depends. they all agreed that the +3 is by far the easiest (read: least expensive) to make work. they also had differing opinions on using spacers for the blaster- on a banshee they said it is a no no... but some felt that the blaster did not need the head milled for the stroker as the spacer provided enough room to adjust the port timing. the best thing to do is talk with the person who is going to do your engine work.

i dont think they sell a spacer plate for the 4mill.. you need to get the head cut and trench the case and get it ported for the longer stroke.. yea i guess who installed my 4mill didnt know he had to mill the case so the piston wouldnt hit on bdc. so now i gotta get my piston skirt milled down yay lol..
