yup.. you hardly see this but i need some help lol..

today or tommrow im gonna crack open the stock carb and see whats in it for jetting/ needle postion, i havent checked it since the prev owner installed the fmf at begining of winter ... but since then i have a k&n filter, no lid and a lrd pipe with a shortened silencer..

what would you guys thing should be a good jetting set up for 50-80 degree weather.. with listed mods.. safe jetting so as in one higher than what it spot on... granted i know every machine is differant and location.. so im just trying to get a idea of where to start tuning friday for thsi weekends first trail ride..

remeber stock carb, k&n no lid, boyseen reeds, lrd pipe, lrd shortened silcncer..

pilot?

needle clip??

main jet?

not worried about air screw setting right nbow i can fine tune that when the time comes just need t know what ya guys thing these 3 should be at..

if i was you id do a wot chop with whats in it and go from there....if whoever had it before you jetted for the fmf im guessing there is between a 260-290

in a stock carb with your mods the pilot should be ok and the needle should be in the 3rd clip which is good

the main will be what you will need to figure out based on the plug chop with whats in it now

now if i could just get my jetting right lol

i was running the stock pilot, middle or 4th down on clip, and a 320 main,
last season, with my f7 pipe, cfm airbox, uni filter,
when i took the top end off to send to oconnor for porting there wasnt a scratch on that piston, but there was a little carbon build up
i say you at least need a 290 main, at least
start bigger though

thanks guys... i was workin on my buddys blastacate today, fixing his clutch, so i took mine for a spin... about 58-60 degrees out when i did it.. granted i dont have much room to work with..

but this is what i did, took off in second gear and as soon as got moving i pinned it wide open. little slugging like you would expect for taken off in 2nd gear but it climed in the rpms and hit the pipe and wheelied,,, seems main good right now..

than did the samd 2ng gear start, and ran it like 1/4 to half throttle and it excellerated fine.. slow for 2nd gear like normal. but it didnt bog bad, and came up i nthe rpms cleanly... im almost wondeirng if the jettin for the fmf for winter wil be good with no lid for summer on the lrd pipe.... ...

from the feel of it pilot seems good, and needle should be good..

it may be dead on man i would pop in a new plug and do one wot pass and chop the plug

also i would just take the carb apart even if its good just so ya know whats in there

im trying to find somewhere to go friday so i can check plugs...

i can tell you for how smokey it is in my vids tell really warmed up at like 24:1 i have not changed a plug yet, i got 2-3 hours on it, plus what ever prev owner had on it, plus about 15-20 start and idle session in the garage.

With my lrd and no air box lid, It would not rev with anything over a 280 jet. My toomey runs with a 310 and its happy as.
