nonsense....as said before, if its tuned and maintained correctly it will last a long time, batt is going on 2 and half yrs on his blasty and that fool doesnt ride easy lol

oh yea and 2 or 3 rebuilds on the blasty is still cheaper than a 4 poke build

4yr old top end and 120lbs of compression. i rode my blaster so much so hard and it never gave up on me. it had 120lbs of compression when i traded it. i got my jetting spot on the first time, and i always ran good oil in it and cleaned the filter every ride. maitenance is sooo key. stock piston! never had to open it up not even once. i found it to be more reliable than my other 4 strokes. except my honda recon. ummm it wont die.

i like the smoother 4 poke power delivery but i also love the screeeeeeeeeeam of a 2 stroke.

when i had my blaster it was a 2001, still on same topend
my EX, 2001 replaced my topend with bigbore kit in the winter with the compression at 80 lbs, yea it was time, lol but that thing had the piss rode outa it, some 12 yr old kid who couldnt ride at all

I was not sayin that no one should own a 4 stroke. i even said they do get a lot better gas milage than a 2 stroke. my f a 4 stroke comment was my personal opinion and i stick by it. i won't knock your 400 ex I just will never own one personaly.

I would rather sit on a stock 400ex for 5 hours than a stock blasty for 5 hours. I am old though................

I agree the ex is more compfy and the power is more steady through-out but that is why i don't like 4 strokes. i don't plan on sittin down much when i ride so comfort isn't very important and the way that the blasty will just stand up all the sudden pullin out of a corner and scare the sh*t out of me is what i love about it. the power is kinda unpredictable at times and that keeps rides exciting. That's just how i feel about it though.

Dont get me wrong love the blasty as well scot. You know sometimes i want a cushy ride though.

I love trails i love tight trails but sometimes i like to put put threw the trails with my friends and not have to wrap a blasty out till 7 grand to do it.

I heard a stock blaster on the trail yesterday when i was walking.....it was so quite compared to mine lol.
