400ex shock question

Im looking at a pair of 400ex shocks on ebay and i kno i gotta get wider a arms but will +3 work or do they have to be +3 +1?? thanks in advance

I dont think it matters, the shock mount would be in the same place +1 or not. It's the joints to the spindle that are moved forward.
I'd think 400ex front shocks would be springed too heavy for a light blaster?

You think?? I was just reading the cheap shocks thread and it metioned them as a good swap?? What do you think for shocks then??

400ex rear would be the swap you're thinking of.
There's a lot of swaps with +3 +1 arms.
YFZ450 would be the most popular.

400ex is good for the back. banshee shocks work well up front with stock a arms.

YFZ 450 fronts are a a little longer and will lift you up some.

Ya im def gunna get wider a arms +3 prob so it dosent matter if they are longer or anything

I am +3 and had to widen the top hangers for the YFZ450 shocks to sit at the angle I prefer.

I should mention that I am using a widening kit, I do believe that extended arms have the shock mounts in the conventional position.
