So I finally decided to buy the $11 drill bit today so that I can drill out the bottom mount on my z400 rear shock and install it this weekend. I have seen some people say that you need to replace the bottom pin. My question is, is this necessary or do you only need to replace it if you cannot get your old one out?

The one from my parts bike looks fine to me but I have not checked the one on this bike yet. Just wasnt sure if there was a reason to replace it if it fits tight and doesnt look worn.

you may have seen me post it, about my trx450 shock ????
i may have needed to go to a bigger pin cause my shocks holes were worn and fit the stock pin loosely ?????, been so long i forget
if your stock pin works, do it

That may be where I saw it. Just didn't see any reason to do it if it wasn't worn. Thanks for the info.
