What I need to know if the added stroke advances or retards stock timing. I'm running +4 stroker with ct 240 kit port matched. I'm at 4 degrees advance on stator plate now but need to know which direction I should go to fine tune

I know I advanced timing but when using a stroker crank without a cylinder spacer will that advance or retard stock settings?
I'm running 108 octane so I'm not worried about detonation problems just looking for a place to start. I'm thinking I should add more timing but want some conformation

read the grounding strap when doing a plug chop to determine timing...........
As you advance the ignition and put heat in the engine the plug ground strap will turn darker gray as well as the metal at the end of the threaded area. As the metal turns medium to dark gray you should start looking for the blue line (band) around the ground strap. Ideally, you want this blue line to be just below where the ground strap makes the sharp bend and above the weld. If you advance the ignition too far the blue will disappear off the strap and the strap will pick up rainbow colors (blues and greens). The next step beyond that is to start melting the strap from the tip end and detonation.

All that is good info for someone looking in but that I already knew and read looking for the answer to my question. Where is ken O'Conner at lol
No two engines are the same, there for reading the plug and adjusting your timing based on plugs is gonna give you better results then just setting an forgetting, give the engine what it tells you it wants,
You can only read the plug for timing at wot chops as when I do partial throtte chops the burn on ground strap moves closer to center?
