:-/i got my blaster running perfect now. but im looking for something with more power. so i think im gonna sell the ol' blasty and get a 400 or a 450. there less work. although i love working on my blaster, i just want something new. how much do you think my quads worth? with all my mods below

did you not already post the same thing and why would you make the title ???????? it should be somthing related to the subject your posting about

geez calm down, didnt know i wasnt aloud asking a question..? all i wanted to know is how much you think its worth.

1500 maybe if you have a good clean title but thats on the high side probably,,urs doesnt have hydros so urs isnt gunna get as much traffic as the 03+ models, and ur running stock suspension too..blasters have the worst resale of all atvs since they are dime a dozen and there are alot to choose from..its unfortunate since people put alot of time and money into them.

and a side note hi-performance 4 strokes are every bit as much work as a 2 stroke if not more, and alot more pricey to maintain correctly..average rebuild done n said is gunna run 500bones, also cams valves and timing chains need to be regularly maintained and are very expensive..if you want a bike with little maintenance stick with the blaster and save the cash for some go quality go-fast mods and suspension,,you will be happier in the long run i think since blasters for the most part are gas n go quads

1000-1500 if your extremely lucky. 450s are pretty beast and would be the only 4 poke I would by other than a sport utility. As far as maintenance your looking at basically twice the maintenance and four times the cost to rebuild.

yours might pull in 1100. but you know how many times i have has to adjust the valves on my blaster? none. and with a few mods your blaster will be as fast if not faster than a 400ex

$700-800

98 drum brake blaster with cut up plastics, torn seat cover, wore out front knobbies, after market air filter & pipe. motor that obviously blew up hard enough to need a bore and crank. if it runs perfect, recent machine shop receipt and a clear title in your name maybe $800

cut up plastics? where, them are obviuosly maier racing witch for the whole set was more then 500$ and i have brand new kendas for my fronts. and actually my dads a smaal engine machanc and he probally knows way more then you, also it didnt blow up i bought it with that in it. so stop assuming stuff

You asked in an open forum what EVERYONE thought your bike is worth. I was basing my value on your signature picture and description. How else am I to plug into my handy dandy bike eval-o-meter machine and get you a figure ?

But since you brought up a few other points, let me share with you my (and every other consumer looking at buying a bike like yours) thoughts of what we just learned:

1. Your motor is 2 bores from being a paper weight. If I buy it and it blows up, I get one more chance at getting it right before I dump a bunch into the motor (like someone before you obviously did too) and buy a whole new cylinder or have it re-sleeved.

2. If your bike doesn't have any plastics on it the buyer would have to buy some, thus removing even more value. So saying that you have aftermarket Maiers (that are obviously not NEW) is like saying "For Sale........ _Blah, blah blah___, with a 3 year old paint job from Maaco". (Its an aftermarket paint job and it cost me money). Here is a full set of OEM plastics for $170, so if you spent $500 you probably over paid a bit, but that doesnt increase the value. COMPLETE SET of OEM Yamaha Blaster PURPLE plastics | eBay

3. You say you have a new set of front tires. How would any of us know that ? There not on your bike in the pic, nor in your list of additions to your bike in your signature. Every bike has tires and those that are worn out are worth even less. So new tires just means that I don't have buy any for a while. Its not a race bike and I'm not going to race it, so one tire is as good as the next on a bike like yours.

4. In another thread here, you replied to another person "K&N are junk". Now I bring this up, cause your bike has one on it (according to your signature). Now if it's not good enough for you, why would I buy your bike then ? If they don't filter out the grim and (according to you, you haven't cleaned it in 3 years) wouldn't that be cause for alarm ? What else haven't you done to maintain it ?

5. You say that your father is a small engine mechanic and knows more then me. Does he also do all the maintenance on your families bikes ? If so, I again question the fitness and overall condition of this atv and it's supposed value. If you'd spend $30 on a new Twin Air filter, rather then just clean the one that you got and put an outerwear on it. I would then be looking for other things that you have neglected to maintain and would cost me money to fix shortly after purchase.

Here are a few for sale in my area that are what I would consider to be the same value and condition as yours. Most are very clean. Some even need a lil TLC. Some are recent rebuilds too.

I responded to your thread using the information that I could find to determine a value that was comparable to those in my area. What are bikes like yours selling for where you live ?

Food for thought next time......................If you don't like constructive criticism or persons opinions, you shouldn't ask those type of questions that the answers will upset you.

Organ. i was never saying for you to buy it or anyone. i just asked what you guys thought i should price it at. cause you guys are supposablyy "experts" on blasters

i just got offered a 400ex for my truck. that or a z400. but yeah man. blasters dont sell for too much. all the people that dont know what a blaster is think its just a slow 200 cc beginner quad.

Id say 800-900 on a good day, as others have said they are a dime a dozen. I dont actually ride one i got a real quad (banshee):p i just part them out to fund my other stuff. If you want to get top dollar i suggest parting it out, somebody has already offered to buy your exhaust in this thread so there is a start:)

If your looking to upgrade personally id stick with 2 strokes, if you want to go fast a banshee or a quadzilla can feed your need. Usually wen people ride my shee for the first time they are shocked by how fast it is.
