310 main jet?

With an fmf fatty and power core2 pipe, uni filter and no airbox lid is a 310 a good jet to start with? Way to big?
 
Oh btw I have a vetos high comp piston kit, and fmf says with that pipe to run a 270 main jet with the airbox lid on so I should need bigger than that right?
 
I don't think its to big, ill put a fresh plug and check it out, I'd rather it be to rich than to lean
 
blasterman87...when i first bought my blaster i put an fmf setup just like your on it, i have boyesen reeds and port and polish with the lid removed on my airbox, all the mods you have now right?
I went from stock jet to a 270 after i installed my pipe, all ran well, then i had my port job and reeds done and took the airbox lid off, i then put a 310 main in and it loaded up terrible...ran like sh*t !!! i put the airbox lid back on and went back down to a 270 and it run great again..I think a 310 is too big for you.
just put a high flow airbox on mine and have v force reeds on the way in the mail now so ill prolly have to screw around with it again ..lol..but i guess it sall trial and error i suppose.

just ta let ya know...ill be honest and say that i am in no way a "carb guy" i dont have allot of engine work done but i do have a very agressive port job,reeds,pipe,airbox..milled head..weisco piston...etc..
It was a biotch to get mine dial'd in
