250r shock rebuild PICS

i ordered a 86 trx 250r shock from ebay, i recieved it today and it isnt as good shape as it was listed as...the interior bump stop? i believe the little rubber gromet type deal on the interior shock shaft? almost completely gone, i dont know how its still holding on in there. are there places that rebuild these? i know i have read somewhere that people do em but cant find any at the moment. ill also post pictures in a few minutes

what do you think about polishing the housing?

After buying that shock,investing money on a rebuild,your time to do the work,plus any tools you don't own that you may need,wouldn't it probably been better to just spend a few more and get a rear works,pep,elka,etc. I know we all try to save money but that thing is going to cost you now.Polishing the housing will make it look good.Just have to repolish every once in a while.

i seen an elka rear on ebay for like 800 bucks and no used ones in sight....ill spend the time needed on it before ispend over 200 ona rear shock, i'd rather spend the money on the engine right now

That sucks man. When i got my z400 shock it was taken off right when they bought it.

anyone do this before? i read the how to, but where have you guys got them recharged at.

check at a local atv/motorcycle shop for charging. Hopefully my shock is in a little better shape than that when i get it...
